The video clips on this page show the step-by-step evolution of selected watercolors. The strategy is to work from light to dark, identifying and reserving by painting around it, the compositional highlight in the view. This is the lightest part of the view, represented by the white of the paper. It is joined by a succession of darker areas, each one in tern documented by a subsequent layer of a darker value or complementary hue.
